Splitting Cards

When a person is playing blackjack, they’ll soon find out that there are a lot of great ways to play the game, making a seemingly straightforward game so much more exciting. At first it may seem a little confusing, as it has for a number of people, but with enough practice, it becomes quite simple. Of all of the different ways for a person to play the game, they’ll eventually come to the decision that splitting is something that a lot of people have found to be especially fun. Splitting is when a person is dealt two cards of the same value. By doubling their bet, they can choose to play both of these cards separately, increasing their odds.

Splitting cards can be really profitable for a person, as long as they know what they should and what they shouldn’t split. Most people agree that it’s not advisable to split either a 10 or 5. Also, that would mean that splitting face cards shouldn’t be used, either. Split 7 or 8 when up against a dealer’s card at the same or lesser value. Also, split a possible 2 or 3 against the dealer’s three cards higher than those. Lastly, if a person gets 2 Aces, it’s advisable that they split both of them and hope for face cards or tens to finish it out.

Splitting can be a very valuable tool for the person looking to win some big money at the blackjack table, and can really help a person stay alive when they would have otherwise busted.

Getting the Best Out of the Blackjack Table

Every person wants to make sure that they do the best that they can when they’re playing at their favorite blackjack table. Sure, there’s the chance that a person will pick up a couple of wins from the dealer, but if they are going to really hit it big, they’ll have to be able to do a little more than just luck out. Blackjack may be a game that heavily relies on chance, there are many different ways for an aspiring blackjack professional to increase their odds. Of course, there’s always something like card counting, but, that’s not usually for normal people — as we are not exactly Math whizzes. Also, there’s the chance that a person would be thrown out of the casino, as well.

First, it’s important for a person to realize whether they have a hard or a soft hand. A soft hand is one that has an Ace in it, and it is pretty hard for a person to bust on a soft hand. More often than not, a person can stand on an 18, and maybe push it a bit if the count is 17 or lower. This way, a person stands a better chance of winning the game if they have a soft hand, as it is something that’s really versatile, seeing as how the Ace could be either a 1 or 11.

Knowing the best way to play a hard or soft hand is generally the way that one would rake it in at a blackjack table.
